Anthony Miles Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home on Dec. 18, 2025.
Anthony Mark Miles, 64, of Tullahoma, left this world on December 16, 2025, the same way he
moved through it: quietly, gently, and with a heart full of love. Born and raised in Tullahoma,
Mark spent his life working as a machinist, a trade that suited his steady hands and even steadier
spirit.
Mark was the kind of man who showed up for people. If you needed something, anything, he
was already on his way, no hesitation, no complaint, just that familiar soft smile and a
willingness to help. He loved his family with a depth that did not need big speeches; it lived in
the way he listened, the way he paid attention, and the way he made sure everyone else was okay
before thinking of himself.
He shared 44 years of marriage with his wife, Dana, and together they built a life full of small
joys and big love. He took quiet pride in watching his children, Kimberly Austin, Heather Carr,
and Joshua Miles, grow into adults with partners, Mike, J, and Mary Beth, who he welcomed as
his own, embracing them with the same tenderness and generosity he gave to everyone he loved.
His grandchildren, Taylor, Madelyn, and Margo, were the lights of his life, and watching Taylor
play baseball was one of his greatest joys.
Mark also had a soft spot for the animals who shared his home. His dogs, Rascal and Paxton, and
his cat, Midnight, were constant companions who brought him comfort, laughter, and the kind of
uncomplicated loyalty he appreciated so deeply.
Throughout his illness, Mark showed a strength that defined him just as much as his kindness.
He never gave up, not once. Even on the hardest days, he stayed positive, smiling, and more
concerned about everyone else's wellbeing than his own. His courage was quiet but unwavering,
and it left an imprint on everyone who walked beside him.
He loved his sisters, Joyce Tarter and Mary Elizabeth Merritt, and held close the many family
members and friends who shaped his life. Mark was never one to seek attention, but he built a
quiet legacy in the way he cared for people: steadily, generously, and without ever asking for
anything in return.
Though he was laid back and a bit shy, Mark had a quick, gentle humor that slipped out at just
the right moment; a oneliner, a small joke, something that could turn a whole room lighter. He
never needed to be the center of attention; he just wanted the people he loved to feel cared for,
safe, and maybe laugh a little.
Mark leaves behind a life defined not by grand gestures, but by everyday acts of love; steady,
humble, and wholehearted. Those who knew him will carry his kindness forward, remembering
the man who gave so much of himself without ever asking for anything back. His presence will
be deeply missed, but the warmth he brought into the world will not fade.
Visitation will be held with the family on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 9:00am to 11:00am
at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home, with the service to follow at 11:00am at the same location.
Burial will take place at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma.
