Anthony "Tony" G. Owens, Jr., age 44, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2025. He was born on December 5, 1980, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Anthony G. Owens, Sr. and Wanda Beavers.
Tony is survived by his beloved life-partner Gracia Gant; loving children Anthony Owens III, Maylasia Owens, Akaysha Owens; dear step-children Keaira Gant, Da'Racia Gant, Jamarria Gant, and Jamilah Gant; twelve grandchildren; parents Anthony Owens, Sr. and Wanda Beavers; siblings Alicia Owens, Felicia Owens, and Taitlyn Bankhead; numerous cousins; uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in passing by his grandparents Willie Roy (Addie Mae) Owens, Emma Jean Ross-Beavers, James Beavers, and King Robinson; uncle James Beavers.
Tony had a keen interest in sports, particularly boxing. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. His favorite holiday was the 4th of July, due to his appreciation for fireworks, barbecues, and gatherings with family and friends. His preferred foods included chicken, fish, and strawberry cake. He valued quality time with his family and took immense pride in his roles as a father and grandfather. Additionally, he was a caring uncle and a supportive son. His family and friends will remember him fondly and he will be deeply missed.
A funeral service to honor Tony will be held at the Greater Bible Way Temple (322 Madison Street, Jackson) on Friday, May 30, 2025, beginning at 12 pm with Minister Eian Wright officiating. Interment to follow at the Woodland Cemetery, Jackson, Michigan. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at Greater Way Bible Church.
