It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony "Tony" Bruce Painter, beloved brother, son, friend, who left this world on March 19, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on February 2, 1952, Anthony lived a life full of passion for the simple joys that made him truly happy.

Residing in Gastonia, North Carolina, Tony found great pleasure in the beauty of old cars. His love for these classic treasures was only matched by the companionship he shared with his faithful dog, Maggie. In recent years, he had discovered a newfound joy in fishing, often finding peace by the water and delighting in the quiet moments of nature.

Tony is survived by his loving brother, Charles Painter; niece, Jennifer Painter; nephew, Christopher Painter (Patrick Ortega); numerous grand nieces and nephews; aunt, Cookie Stiles; uncle, Doyle Dailey; numerous cousins; sister-in-law, Anita Painter. He was a cherished member of the family and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents Charles Painter Jr and Louise Painter; nephew, Jason Painter.

In accordance with Tony's wishes, a visitation will be held at our Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052. Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating his life and sharing cherished memories. This gathering will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 12:00-1:00pm, where we will honor Tony's warm spirit, his love for life, and the indelible mark he left on our hearts.

In the days to come, let us remember Tony not with tears of sorrow, but with smiles that reflect the joy he brought to our lives.
