Anthony "Tony" Peter of Londonderry, NH passed away on March 23, 2025. He was born Antal Barnabas Peter on May 26, 1941, in Rozsyno, Hungary, son of Antal Peter and Anna (Brosztel) Peter. In 1944 he left Rozsnyo with his grandparents, parents and brother and ultimately ended up in Ottmaring, Germany. Tony's family was hiding in terror from the approaching American army when a knock came on their door. Despite their fears, they opened it when a Hungarian-speaking American soldier, Captain Gajdos, persuaded them with an offer of food and blankets. The family lived in a Hungarian refugee camp in Kunzing, Germany until Captain Gajdos sponsored Tony's family to immigrate to his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio in 1951.
Tony grew up in a Hungarian enclave in a tough neighborhood of Cleveland. In his teens he formed a gang with his younger brother called the "Huns" to protect their family and friends. He attended John Carroll University then joined the Air Force in 1967. After an allergic reaction to the plague vaccine, Tony served his time stateside at Randolph Airforce base outside of San Antonio, Texas. Tony demonstrated an affinity for computer programming that launched his post-military career. After his discharge in 1972, Tony worked for Burroughs (which became Unisys) and was a founding member of a company called Spectrum Systems International where he met his wife, Annette Stoller. Tony consulted for many companies around the US and eventually rejoined Unisys in 1992 to head their sales team in Budapest, Hungary. Tony and Annette moved back to the US in 1997 and settled in Windham and finally Londonderry, NH. Their final business venture was forming Real Time Realty, which they operated until retiring in 2022.
Tony's early life experiences instilled a reverence for the US military which was manifested by three generations of Peters serving. He became a devotee of martial arts, practicing Jujitsu. He enjoyed Heavy Metal music, attending concerts in the US and Europe. But most of all, Tony adored children. He loved supporting his grandchildren, whether at a football game, basketball game, karate belt ceremony, Special Olympics competition or dance recital.
Tony is survived by his wife, Annette; his son Tony (wife Darla) Peter of Buffalo Gap, Texas; daughter Sarah Womer (husband Andy) of Stuttgart, Germany; stepson Matthew Stoller (wife Melissa) of Londonderry, NH; stepson Scott Stoller (wife Jacqueline) of Simpsonville, SC. His grandchildren include Ryan (wife Elaine), Andrew and Lauren Peter; James and Justin Womer; Kathleen, Ben and Carolyn Stoller. He had one great grandson, Ryan Peter. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, brother Barnabas Peter and sister Elizabeth Robinson.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 17 at 4:00 PM at the Etz Hayim Synagogue at 1 ½ Hood Rd, Derry, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Operation Homefront, 17319 San Pedro Ave., Suite 505, San Antonio, TX 78232-1444.

Tony Peter hired me at Burroughs in 1980 and what an adventure it was. He was my mentor, dear friend and big brother. He was the ultimate teacher of business as well as life. He was a unique combination of love, toughness and spirituality. You will be missed my friend. Godspeed, Scott, Diana and family

I did not know Tony (I graduated in 1965) but he sounds like he had a fascinating and colorful life. Condolences to his family who must be very proud of him.
