Anthony "Tony" Rader

Anthony "Tony" Rader age 76 of New Salem, IN passed away peacefully at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN on November 8th, 2025, surrounded by family.

Tony married the love of his life, Sheila Masters, on June 27th, 1971, with whom he enjoyed 54 years of marriage.

He is survived by his brothers Dallas (Anne) Rader, Gary (Pam) Rader, and Rev. Jerry (Diane) Rader, his two sons, Tony (Brianne) Rader, and Jerry (Carla) Rader, and his three grandchildren, Katelynn (Dylan) Marlatt, Austin (Lottie) Rader, and Cierra Rader.

He was born on February 25th, 1949, to Dessmon and Beulah Rader, and grew up in Connersville, IN graduating from Connersville Senior High School in 1967. He was drafted into the US Army in 1969 and served a year overseas in combat in Vietnam with the Americal 4/21st 11th BG as a SP4.

He retired from Print Pak in 2008 but continued to work hard on projects for himself and his family. Tony enjoyed gardening and was especially known for his tomatoes which he shared with everyone. He could frequently be found at car shows and swap meets, fishing, working on his hot rod in his garage, and spending time with his family. He was known for his bright personality and ability to make friends with any stranger. It didn't take long for him to call you his 'buddy'.

Tony was a great husband, father, brother, and papaw.

Funeral services will be conducted at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville on Thursday November 13, 2025, at 12:00 noon, with Reverend Jerry Rader and assisted by Paster Jeff Hensley. Military honors will follow the service. Friends and family may gather from 10:00 am until the hour of the service. Tony will be laid to rest at East Hill Cemetery Mausoleum in Rushville, IN.
