Anthony Ragusa Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hubbell Funeral Home & Crematory on Mar. 30, 2026.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony "Tony" Ragusa, who departed this world on March 27, 2026, in Belleair Bluffs, FL. Tony was born on February 25, 1945 in Kentucky. He was raised in Bloomington, IL where he and his family operated an Italian restaurant named Ragusa's. Tony moved to Florida in 1986, owning and working at several restaurants and deli's in the Clearwater, FL area. His Cuban sandwiches and secret sauce are legendary in the Clearwater/Largo Area. Tony will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Anthony was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Tony is survived by Cyndi Swingle, his loving companion of 30 years. He is also survived by his children: Terri (Rich) Veitengruber, Theresa Ragusa, Tony Ragusa and Tina (Todd) Goodwin; stepchildren Heather (Nicole) Forcier and Brian (Leigh) Forcier; grandchildren Justin, Ashley, Jonathan, Nathan, Andrew, Josh, Paige, Emilie, Dexter, Raina, and Braedon; great grandchildren Ava, Giovanni, Dominic, Charlee, Greyson, Julia, Angela, Alaina, and Carter. Tony is also survived by one brother, David Holvick and many close nieces, nephews, and cousins. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Josephine Ragusa;, daughter Angela Welker; sister Camille Powell; brother Tom Ragusa; and grandson Joshua Brookshier.

He will be remembered for his passion for cars, his wicked sense of humor, and his love of preparing dinners, especially Italian ones. Tony will be reunited with his long-time best friend Nikki.

A celebration of Tony's life will be held at a later date in Largo, FL.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in Tony's honor.

May Anthony's memory be a blessing to all who loved him.
