Anthony James “Babes” Ruiz, 58, of Ammon, passed away December 22, 2025, at Idaho Falls Community Hospital. He was under the care of his loving sister, Linda.
Anthony was born September 20, 1967, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Navel Rios Ruiz and Lupe Sanchez Ruiz. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and completed his education at Bonneville High School.
He was a member of the Catholic Parish. He enjoyed traveling to Kansas City to visit his nephew, Walker Swan, with his sister. He loved attending Special Olympics competitions, bowling, track and field events, along with coloring, doing puzzles, and Marvel heroes, including his favorite vintage Batman. He also enjoyed spending time with his health caregivers: Regan Evans, Bailey Caviness, Taylin Wise, Kerry Line, and other numerous friends.
He enjoyed life and shared it with everyone with just a smile and a hug.
Anthony is survived by his sister, Linda Ruiz of Ammon, ID (Andrew Chavez); brother, Jesse Ruiz (Edith); sisters, Dorothy Ruiz of Chesapeake, VA, and Emma Ruiz of Boise, ID; nephew and nieces, Heidi Lewis, Issac Lewis, Jayme Ruiz, Michael Ruiz, Michelle Ruiz, Breanne Ruiz; and several great-nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Navel and Lupe Sanchez Ruiz; brother, Ray Ruiz; and grandmother, Maria Sanchez.
Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1690 E. 17th Street. A Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, with a visitation to follow until 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the WWP_Scam_Phrase">Wounded Warriors Project.
