Anthony Wayne Swift

Anthony Wayne Swift, 67, of Mountain Home, Idaho, passed away in his home on December 9, 2025. He was born July 28, 1958, in Washington, Iowa to the late Mary Linda and Howard Wayne Swift. Wayne was followed in death on December 10, 2025, by his wife of 25 years, Doris "Jeanne" Klemme.

Wayne enlisted in the US Army after finishing high school, spending most of his time serving in Germany as a truck driver. After being honorably discharged, he pursued an Airframe and Powerplant license. For several years, he worked as an A&P mechanic, traveling around the country to work at various airfields. He loved his work as a mechanic and continued to work as a mechanic for the rest of his career.

An avid hobbyist and DIY enthusiast, Wayne loved working with his hands. He was a talented carpenter and accomplished woodworker, and in the last few years he began creating beautiful stained-glass pieces. He recently received his broadcast license and was amassing a collection of radio and electronics parts to tinker with. His Volkswagen toy car collection was rivaled only by his love of making himself–and sometimes others–laugh.

Wayne is survived by his children, Dylan (Kaye) Swift, Courtney (Bryan) Herrera, and Katrina (Adam) Dyke; and grandchildren, June Wattawa, Rhys Wattawa, Jake Soo, Ayla Herrera, Donovan Baldwin, Winnie Dyke, and Callie Dyke.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Linda and Howard Wayne Swift. He is also survived by his stepmother, Judith Swift, and siblings Todd Swift, Tim Swift, and Kim Swift.
