Anthony Floyd Sansoucie, affectionately known as Tony, was born on September 24, 1958, in Columbus, Georgia. He passed away there on June 18, 2025, after a short illness. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 24, 2025, in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Ed Rollins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.

Tony grew up in Columbus. After graduating Kendrick High School in 1977, he served in the US Army from 1978-1992 as a helicopter mechanic and crew chief, deploying to Saudi Arabia in 1991 as part of Operation Desert Storm. Upon leaving active duty, Tony worked 14 years as a civilian, which included manufacturing Char-Broil grills for W.C. Bradley Company. In 2006, Tony returned to military service, enlisting in the Georgia Army National Guard as a vehicle and helicopter maintenance mechanic, completing a tour in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. In full retirement, Tony looked after his parents and his dog, Storm, while never missing a Georgia Bulldog football game. Tony is remembered for his warm spirit and generosity. He loved outdoor activities, especially fishing, and helped anyone who needed him.

Tony is survived by his sisters, Donna Rothwell (Gary), Kendra Fredette (Larry), Anita Morningstar (Randy), his nieces and nephews, Kelli Baker, Randy J. Morningstar, and Dustin Morningstar, and his great nieces Kylee Baker and Kaylah Baker. His fiancée, Lynn Sweetland, was a source of love and companionship in his life.

Tony was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Elna Sansoucie, father, George Sansoucie, and nephew, Kameron Fredette. The care and support Tony gave his family throughout his life will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

As friends and family reflect on the legacy of this kind-hearted man, they will remember him not only for his service and dedication, but for the love he shared so freely. Tony's memory will live on in stories told by his loved ones, who will forever hold him in their hearts.
