Anthony Walters Obituary

Anthony R. "Boo" Walters, 82, of Bradley, passed away Sunday (April 30, 2023), in Chebanse.

He was born August 15, 1940 in Bradley, the son of Clifford and Betty (Papineau) Walters.

Anthony retired after 25 years from the Village of Bradley Public Works. Prior to that, he worked at the local Rudy's Thrift-T Mart stores for many years.

He enjoyed socializing at the Bradley American Legion, helping others, especially family and friends, watching NASCAR and fishing. He enjoyed the Kankakee River and the outdoors in general.

Surviving are one son, Robert Walters, of Los Angeles, Calif.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Christine and Bob Throop, of Bourbonnais, Gina and Michael Randles, of Chebanse, and Jorie Walters, of Kankakee; two sisters, Laurie Peppin, of Indiana, and Pat Chaney, of Tuscola; six grandchildren, Courtney (John) Pettygrove, Emily (Matt) Subach, Sarah (Jake) Ballard, Jamie Throop, Kelly (David) Molohon and Dominick Lambert; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; former wife, Rosemary Jordan; and four brothers, Jim Walters, Sherman Walters, Mel Walters and Sam Walters.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A wake service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 7, with visitation to follow until 5 p.m., both at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais.

Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.
