Antoni "Tolek" Karwowski, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was 71 years old.
Born on June 13, 1954, in Poland, Antoni immigrated to the United States in the late 1980s to build a better life for his family. A hardworking and talented mechanic, he spent many years employed at ITW in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Later, guided by both his entrepreneurial spirit and a deep longing for his homeland, he fulfilled a lifelong dream by building and managing The Baltic Restaurant in Berlin, CT. Through the restaurant, he shared a piece of Poland with others. His dedication, strong work ethic, and generosity earned him the respect and friendship of many throughout the community.
Antoni was a devoted family man who found his greatest joy in spending time with his wife, children, and beloved grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife Zofia, and his children: Michal and his wife Sara, Lukasz and his wife Paulina, Karolina and her husband Wojtek, and Matthew. He was the proud and cherished grandfather of Paul, Alexander, Sara, Olivia, Sebastian, Julian, and Henry. He is also survived by his brother Andrzej and sister Alicja, and their families, all residing in Poland.
A true enthusiast of cars and motorcycles, Antoni also loved working outdoors in his garden and caring for his dogs. He was known for his remarkable ability to fix anything, a talented handyman who always lent a helping hand. He had a love for literature, studying world history as a pastime. His witty sense of humor brought laughter to his family and those lucky enough to be close with him. His curiosity and passion for exploring the world motivated his desire to travel, visiting countries from South America to the Holy Land. Above all, Antoni valued family, love, and hard work. His strength, warmth, and humor will live forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
Family and friends will forever remember his kind smile, steady hands, and the joy he brought to every gathering.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, November 9, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. His funeral service will begin on Monday, November 10, at 8:45 am at Burritt Hill Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Church in New Britain.
