Antonietta Vella Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 31, 2025.
Antonietta Vella, 79, of Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28 th 2025, surrounded by her devoted husband, Salvatore Vella, and her treasured children, Graceann and Dennis.

Antonietta was born in Cantalupo Italy, and at the age of 15 she bravely journeyed to the United States by ship, carrying with her one small suitcase and the deep love of family and tradition. After arriving in New York, through her hard work and determination, she co-owned a very successful hair salon with her brother Luigi in Brooklyn New York, called Monaco's.

Later on with her soulmate, Salvatore Vella, they established and owned very successful Italian Markets in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Staten Island and New Jersey.

They moved to Marlboro New Jersey where they raised a family and expanded their vision into Sal's Original Italian Meats and Catering stores in multiple locations in New Jersey that became a cornerstone of many communities. Antonietta was an integral part of the business success, bringing the magic of Italian cooking, made with love, passion and tradition to everyone she served. They later retired to beautiful Naples Florida, enjoying many years together with family and friends.

Antonietta was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will always be remembered for her warmth, generosity and unwavering love. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of strength and devotion that will live on in all who knew her.

She is survived by the love of her life, her husband Salvatore Vella, her loving children Graceann Santangelo and Dennis Vella and her precious grandchildren Christian Santangelo, Dennis Vella Jr. and Juliana Vella. She is also survived by her siblings Santo Monaco and Rita Detomasi. She is pre-deceased by her parents Angelo and Adelina Monaco and her brothers Luigi and Antonio Monaco.

"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always there. So loved, so missed, so very dear."
