Dad, thank you for everything you have done for us. My only regret is not saying it enough. You brought so much to so many. Words cannot describe enough what you meant to us as family and those you touched through everything you did, cutting hair, selling trees, offering life long wisdom to all of us who had it so easy because of you. I owe you a great deal of thanks, for making me the person I am today through the challenges you encountered, the goals you set for yourself and those examples of hard work, dedication, kindness. Living life through logic and common sense, lessons you have left behind for us to carry on. Loving heart you held for all, willing to help anyone in anyway, anytime. I admit now most of my house hold 'repairs' and upgrades was never due to lack of knowledge or fear but more to learn and be together, I was always his "assistant' even if it was my house and that was ok. I just loved being with him doing these things and the way he methodically wanted things to be perfect. Family was always first, something my father always pushed as long as I can remember sitting across the dinner table, we were in trouble if we were late for dinner even when we didn't know when dinner would be! Dad wanted us together, all the time no matter what. I'll miss you bossing us around every Memorial and Labor Day weekend on how and where to put the docks in the water, cleaning the cottage garage and spending our weekends together up north. I will than anything walking into the basement and being asked I would like an espresso. My son's have lost an unbelievable role model, a Nonno who loved them more than words can explain. Teasing them, fishing, watching them in the water up north, the joy and happiness it brought him to watch his grandkids grow up.
Dad, I could write forever about someone who has given so much and made me who I am today.
I love you dad, I only wish I would have said it more.

Amico mio! My barber for over 30 years. My friend for eternity. With roots from small towns in Sicily, Nino's family from San Vito Lo Capo and my family from Cinisi, I found great pleasure in our Sicilian conversations as he cut my hair. He and Rosa always made my wife and I feel special when we got together. He will be remembered fondly until we meet again.
May God bless you and give peace and strength to Rosa and your loving family. Inscription on cemetery gates in Cinisi: "Fuori la luce del sole. Dentro la luce del Signore."

My family met Nino back in the 60s when he was cutting hair at 13 & Ryan in Warren. He gave my son t89His first haircut. Our friendship has continued through the years with graduations and weddings and visits to Kalkaska. I also had many real estate transactions with him and Rosa and through it all he was truly a great prince of a man. We have lost a truly good man. We shall miss you but at least you will not be suffering anymore and I am sure you will finding some good ol friends up there to welcome you. With affection

I first met Nino after my wife Louise saw an ad for his Troy barber shop and I made an appointment in 1976. That began a friendship of 42 years. A haircut over a cup of coffee, discussing politics, religion, sports, family and all manner of topics. I was always impressed with his entrepreneurial savvy. Over the years I became Easy Muney (easy money) and he became El Nino, of course names of endearment. I found him to be an intelligent, kind, funny, and devoted man to his family, friends, and his beloved wife Rosa. After he and I retired, I would find myself having my haircut at the lake in Kalkaska or at the Rochester condo with my good friend. This summer at the lake house, what turned out to be my last haircut with him, Nino told me he had another battle with cancer and the impending surgery he was to undertake. He was optimistic and ready for the battle, but knowing the risk said if he didn't make it, it was because "God needed another good barber in heaven". I guess God wanted him at His side. May God grant his family and friends peace in the knowledge that Nino went to God's loving arms. God bless his family and God bless our beloved Nino. He will be greatly missed.
