Antonio Rodriguez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Resthaven Funeral Home - Sinton on Jan. 6, 2026.
Antonio "Tony" Rodriguez, also known to many as La Cuerda, was born on September 19, 1962 in Sinton, Texas. He was called home by our Lord and Savior on December 24, 2025 following a short illness. He was 63.

Tony was a hardworking man who took great pride in what he did best-construction and carpentry. He owned and operated his business, Rodriguez Improvement, and was known for his dedication, skill and strong work ethic. Tony loved football, basketball, fishing, making barbecue for his family and spending cherished time with the grandchildren he loved so dearly.

Music was one of Tony's greatest passions. He loved singing and served as the lead vocalist for Majestad, a Tejano Christian band. He also faithfully served as an Interim Pastor, preaching the Word of God. Tony had a great sense of humor, enjoyed helping others and remained humble in all he did.

Tony graduated from Kearney High School in California in 1981 but was a lifelong resident of Sinton, Texas. He was also a talented artist and proudly painted the mural displayed in the Sinton High School cafeteria.

A proud Veteran of the United States Navy, Tony served as a radioman, completed two WestPac deployments and was honored with Sailor of the Quarter twice.

Above all, Tony was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. A Christian man of deep faith, he loved God wholeheartedly, and his family held his heart. His legacy of love, strength, service and faith will live on through all who knew and loved him.

Tony married the love of his life, Anita, on August 17, 1985. During their 40 years together, they welcomed three sons:

· Joshua Rodriguez (Connie) from Mathis, Texas

· Jacob Rodriguez (Julie) from Corpus Christi, Texas

· Jonathan Rodriguez (Brennah) from Sinton, Texas

He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Joshua Gabriel, Jasmynn, Savannah, Elizabeth, Noah, Julieanne, Jonah, Jennah, Jenoah, and Jenovah; his brother Elias Rodriguez (Lamar) of Sinton, Texas; his sisters Adela Isip (Resty) from Corpus Christi, Texas and Hortencia Rodriguez from Sinton, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Tony is preceded in death by his granddaughter Jadah; his mother Frances Paz; his father Celestino Rodriguez; and his brothers Celestino Rodriguez and Marvin Rodriguez.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton, with the family receiving guests beginning at 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will follow, 5:00 PM at the funeral home.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, 1:00 PM at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Although I did not know him personally, we were both Navy brothers. Thank you for your service, Shipmate. May you enjoy fair winds and following seas. - Chief Joe Jaramillo, U. S. Navy (Retired)
