Middlebury – Antonio R. “Tony” Santos Jr., 60, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of Lori (Higdon) Santos.
Tony was born on December 1, 1964, in Waterbury, the son of the late Antonio and Mary Celina (Mala) Santos Sr. He was a longtime Middlebury resident and was a member of Clube Uniao Portuguesa and the Torrington Fish and Game Club.
Besides his wife of 37 years, Tony is survived by his sister Celina Cesare and her husband Jon; his nephew Cameron Cesare and his wife Andie Walsh; his “adopted family” Michelle and Danielle Capelli, Pam and Edward Schelling, Eddie Schelling Jr. and his family, and Michael Schelling and his family.
Arrangements – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 10 am at St. John of the Cross Church, 1263 West St, Middlebury. Friends are asked to meet directly at church, and there are no calling hours. Burial will follow in Lake Elise Cemetery. The Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
