Antonio F. Simao

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Antonio Fortes Simao, of West Hartford, who departed this life peacefully on December 18, 2025 at the age of 92. Antonio was born on May 9, 1933, in Pinhal-Obidos, Portugal, to Antonio and Rozaria Simao.
Antonio was a dedicated husband to Helena, his loving wife of almost 69 years, and a devoted father to Victor and Steve. He was a proud grandfather to three grandchildren, Matthew, Justin, and Aidan. He was also blessed with two great grandchildren, Riley and Andrew.
Before coming to this country, Antonio worked as a Miller operating both a windmill and a watermill. Antonio came to the United States in 1966 and worked in construction for White Oak Construction Company. He had a love of gardening and his fruits and vegetables flourished every year. After retirement, Antonio put his masonry skills to use and did many side jobs reflecting his wonderful talent.
Calling hours will be Friday, December 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Kane St., Hartford.
