ANTONIO GINO TODISCO - BURLINGTON
Antonio "Gino" Todisco, 91, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather (known to his family as "Nonno") passed peacefully from this life on November 20th. His loss is felt profoundly by all who knew and loved him.
Gino was born and raised in Luogosano, Italy. He married the love of his life, Anna DiGregorio Todisco, in their home country before the two of them journeyed to America together in hopes of creating a better future. Their partnership was rooted in faith, devotion, and family, and it remained the steady foundation of all they accomplished. Although Anna passed away in 2013, Gino carried her with him every day. He often said that when he reached heaven, he would hug her and "never let her go this time." He now joins her again in eternal peace.
In 1959, Gino and Anna purchased The Airport Grocery in South Burlington. For more than five decades, the store became a beloved cornerstone of the community. Known for its sandwiches, refreshments, and Anna's homemade Italian specialties, it was also a place where locals and travelers alike were welcomed with warmth and generosity.
Gino held immense pride in being an Airport Neighborhood business owner. He was deeply grateful for the South Burlington and airport-area community-the neighbors, families, airport workers, and longtime customers whose support meant everything to him. The Airport Neighborhood was not just where he worked; it was a community he loved, honored, and cherished for his entire life.
Later, the Todisco family continued serving the Vermont Air National Guard, where their meals and kindness once again created a second home for many.
Gino was a hardworking, humble, and deeply faithful man who believed in the strength of family above all else. He also had a special, witty sense of humor, and the stories he shared from his younger years, and early adventures never failed to bring joy to his family. His storytelling, delivered with his signature charm and a familiar twinkle in his eye, will be remembered fondly by all who loved him.
His greatest joy was the life he built with Anna; raising their children, watching their family grow, and creating a home anchored in love, tradition, and togetherness. His legacy lives on in every generation of the Todisco family.
He is survived by his three children, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren:
Daughter Laura and her late husband Ken, and their children:
• Kenny and his wife Jess, and their children Lena, Anna, and William
• Keith and his wife Alissa, and their children Lucia, Mateo, and Samuele
• Joseph and his wife Heather
Daughter Gina and her husband Jake, and their children:
• Anthony
• Alie and her husband Mike, and their daughter Hadley
• Michael
Son Nick and his wife Sandy, and their children:
• Nicole and her husband Forrest, and their daughters Laela and Maren
• Lauren and her husband Lucas
Gino is also remembered lovingly by extended family, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends and community members whose lives he touched through his kindness, generosity, and steadfast presence.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents of Quarry Hill for their care, companionship, and kindness shown to Gino. Their support and warmth meant so much to him and to his family.
At this time, there will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 29th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Catholic Church on North Avenue in Burlington. A reception will follow at the Elks Lodge on North Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice, in honor of Gino's lifelong spirit of giving.
Gino will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his pride in the Airport Neighborhood he served for so many years, his decades of service to the community, and the grace and humility with which he lived his long and beautiful life. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his beloved Anna-just as he always hoped-together again in God's eternal care.

My dad worked at the airport for over 25 years . It was always a treat when he took me to your store. As a worker at BTV for over 10 years I always looked forward to taking my breaks across the street at your store . Gino and all of your family were always so very pleasant and friendly . I sorry for your loss . He was a great man and I will pray for all of you.

I fondly remember Gino, Anna, and the family as I frequently visited Airport Grocery when I was working at the Guard flight facility around the corner. You all were so helpful in serving us. Sending warm thoughts and prayers to the family and lifting you up in your loss.
