Apolinar Olague – fondly known as "Polo" was born in Jerez Zacatecas, Mexico on July

30, 1947 to Paula Alvarado and Fernando Olague.

Apolinar came to the United States at the age of 20 arriving in California. In 1972 he

married Mary Baiz. There were no children but he accepted her children from a prior

marriage - Robert and Gloria. At the age of 40 he was diagnosed with ALS. In the 90's

he moved to Illinois to be closer to his brothers. Polo accepted his illness with grace,

never complaining about his situation. He understood it would eventually cause him to

lose all movement but he was a fighter. He loved listening to music, western movies and

spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife Mary (Baiz), "step-children" Robert and Gloria (Gloria's

husband Philip Juarez), children( Philip Jr and Kistian ((Andrew Morales), Adrianna,

Emily & Alexa))). He was the oldest of 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Nicolas (Maria),

Alejandrina, † Miguel, Ramon(Toni), Catalino(Elisa), Antonio(Rosario), Martha and

Narciso(Magdalena). Besides his 8 brothers and sisters, he also has 8 cousins that

were raised by his mother after their mother died in an auto accident in 1970. He has 17

nieces and nephews and 16 grand-nieces and nephews. He had many friends and

relatives and will be missed by all.

He passed away on February 9, 2026. He is presided in death by his mother, Paula,

father, Fernando, and his younger brother Miguel.

Apolinar Olague, conocido cariñosamente como "Polo", nació en Jerez, Zacatecas,

México, el 30 de julio de 1947, hijo de Paula Alvarado y Fernando Olague.

Apolinar llegó a Estados Unidos a los 20 años, llegando a California. En 1972 se casó

con Mary Baiz. No tuvieron hijos, pero aceptó a los hijos de ella de un matrimonio

anterior: Robert y Gloria. A los 40 años le diagnosticaron ELA. En los 90 se mudó a

Illinois para estar más cerca de sus hermanos. Polo aceptó su enfermedad con

paciencia, sin quejarse nunca de su situación. Comprendió que con el tiempo le haría

perder toda movilidad, pero era un luchador. Le encantaba escuchar música, películas

del oeste y pasar tiempo con la familia.

Le sobreviven su esposa Mary (Baiz), sus hijastros Robert y Gloria (el esposo de

Gloria, Philip Juárez), y sus hijos Philip Jr. y Kistian (Andrew Morales), Adrianna, Emily

y Alexa). Era el mayor de seis hermanos y dos hermanas. Nicolás (María), Alejandrina,

† Miguel, Ramón (Toni), Catalino (Elisa), Antonio (Rosario), Martha y Narciso

(Magdalena). Además de sus 8 hermanos y hermanas, también tiene 8 hermanos de creencia. Tiene17 sobrinos, y 16 sobrinos y sobrinas nietas. Tenía muchos amigos y

familiares, y todos lo extrañarán.

Falleció el 9 de Febrero, 2026. Le acompañan en su fallecimiento su madre, Paula; su

padre, Fernando; y su hermano menor, Miguel. Que descansen en paz.
