April Grace Janda (née Smallwood, formerly Mazur) was born in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 1, 1974, to Frank Smallwood and Yvonne Smallwood (Leasure). She passed away suddenly at age 51 while living in Uniontown, Ohio, on September 29, 2025, leaving an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew her.

April was cherished by her friends and family as a profoundly loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt whose warmth enveloped everyone around her. With a heart of gold and an innate gift for nurturing, she poured her endless love into babies and children, building a fulfilling career as an in-home daycare provider. The little ones she cared for, along with their families, held her in the highest adoration, and they now deeply mourn the profound absence of her gentle presence in their lives. Her passion extended to her beloved plants and animals; she selflessly tended to any creature in need, embodying compassion in its purest form. No matter the circumstance, April was always there-ready to offer comfort, support, or a helping hand at a moment's notice. Her radiant love, inner light, and vibrant, free-spirited soul illuminated the lives of everyone she touched, creating cherished memories that will forever be held dear, especially by her devoted children who were the center of her world.

April was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Smallwood and Yvonne Smallwood (Leasure); her sister, Tracey Laughlin (Smallwood); and her brothers-in-law, Kenneth Teague, Derek Romine, and Frankie Laughlin.

She is survived by her children, Alexander Mazur (Tee Versele), Kyle Mazur (Kayla Vom Steeg), Cheyanne Mazur (Esteban Jimenez), Amethyst Janda, Jordyn Janda, and Olivia Janda; her granddaughters, Elvira Mazur and Alejandra Jimenez; her brother, Korrie Smallwood; her sisters, Susan Teague and Autumn Romine; her nieces, Krystal Spiegle, Amy Worchuck, Courtney Bishop, and Sierra Smallwood; her nephews, Ken Worchuck, Josh Kidd, Koyt Kidd, Ryan Worchuck, Devon Laughlin, and Gage Smallwood; and her beloved fur-babies, Bailey, Mango, Soot, and Alani; ; great-nieces and great-nephews: Chayse Spiegle, Mackenzie Kidd, Jonas Bishop, Chevy Kidd, Max Worchuck, and Ellie Worchuck.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Pavilion #3 of Mogadore Lions Park in Mogadore, Ohio, on Sunday, October 5, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers or cards, please donate to the Humane Society of Summit County in her name, honoring her lifelong dedication to caring for those in need.
