Archie E. Christian was born on June 23, 1944 to Estelle and Arthur Christian, Sr. in Twist, Arkansas. He attended school in the Crawfordsville and Earle Public School Systems. When he was a teenager, he worked several jobs to help take care of his siblings until he moved to Rochester, NY where he worked tirelessly on a farm. They call him their "hero" til this day!
In 1966 he had a son named Antonio Washington. In the end of that year he followed his sister Vivian to Boston, MA. His first job was in Framingham, MA. Then he got a job as a forklift operator with Rohtstein Corporation and worked there from 1973 until he retired in 2004. He met Annie Mae McCorvey in 1967 and their union took place on April 3, 1969. From that union they had Ronnie and Sharon. They grew to a family of 8 with their siblings Carol, Anthony, Gary and Tonya. He also had special nieces and nephews who spent quality time with them over the years: Pat, John, Marilyn, William (Red) and Terry, and a bonus daughter Melanie Shanks (Junior) and their kids.
In his leisure time, he liked fishing and music. His favorite artists were Marvin Gaye and the Isley Brothers. He also loved watching old westerns, the NFL, the NBA, college basketball and his favorite pastime was college football. He we especially be remembered by one of his famous slogans, "I'm not telling you what I heard, I'm telling you what I've seen."
He is preceded in death by his parents Estelle and Arthur Christian, siblings Samuel "SA" Christian, Elnora Christian-Collier, Ronnie Jo Christian, Robert Earl Christian, Arthur Christian, Jr., David Christian and Reynolds Christian, brothers-in-law William Charles Allen, Sr. and Joseph Collier, Sr. and grandson Eugene Rankin, Jr. He is survived by wife Annie Mae Christian; siblings Elizabeth Christian of Hendersonville, TN, Vivian Allen, Barbara "Bobbie" Vaughn (Homer, Sr.), Debra Graham (Richard), Larry Christian (Lorraine), Fred Christian (Sarah), Renard Christian (Denise) all of Gallatin, TN; sister-in-law Jill Christian; children: Antonio, Tonya, Ronnie and Sharon; grandchildren: Shante Creech (James), Ronnie Christian, Jr., Rasheeta Araujo, Terrell Rankin, Rasheem Christian, Shanice McCorvey, Danielle Christian, Donald Christian, Devonte Christian, Isaiah Washington, Jade Christian, Charles George, Cheyenne Christian, Nijah Christian, Chance Christian and Christian Sena, 20 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, family and friends.
