Sister Archie Davis was born on May 5, 1941, to the late James and Blanche Gibbs in Jackson, MS. Mrs. Archie departed her earthly home to be with the Lord on Saturday evening, February 17, 2024 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center.
Archie earned her high school diploma at Jackson Public School. She graduated from Campbell College. Archie retired from National Industries. She had a love for cooking, socializing at Quick Chic corner and spending time with her family.
Archie grew up as a member of New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. In her latter years, she united with Morning Star Baptist Church, where she was a member until her life's journey ended.
Archie was preceded in death by four sisters, two brothers, and one son, Jerald McKiness.
Archie fell in love and married Lydell Mckiness to this union five children were born. She later met and married Mr. Robert Davis. Both husbands preceded her in death.
Archie was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a kind, supportive and generous person with a gentle spirit who never met a stranger. She loved her family and cherished her friends.
Archie leaves to cherish her memories: her loving son Adrien (Marlene) Mckiness of Seattle Washington, three devoted daughters: Brenda Mckiness, Regina Winn, and Gerenda Mckiness of Jackson, MS; one step son, Peter (Bridget) Miles of Memphis Tennessee; six grandchildren: Tianna Mckiness of Wilder Kentucky, Adrien Mckiness Jr, of Louisville, Kentucky, Trae (Raneesha) Thurman of Lakeland Florida, Joshua Winn, Eric (Dana) Gordon, Brea Bolton of Jackson, MS; twelve great grandchildren, one brother, Gene Gibbs of Chicago, Illinois; a special family, The Leflores, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
