Architella Flex Obituary
Architella (Ethel) J. Flex, age 102 of Canton, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Born in Canton to the late Gaetano and Filomena (Limatone) Cecere, she was also preceded in death by her husband Judge Anthony Flex, Sr., son Anthony Flex, Jr., son-in-law Thomas Snelbaker, sisters and brothers-in-law Antonette (Dan) DeSantis, Jennie (Nick) DiFrancesco, Connie (Al) Risaliti, Dolly (Bill) Burgess, and brother John Constantino. She was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School and a life member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Ethel volunteered at the House of Loreto for many years. She loved cooking, shopping with her sisters who were known as "The Golden Girls", and loved to travel with her husband. Ethel is survived by her daughter Philomena Snelbaker, daughter-in-law Anita Flex, grandchildren Tom Jr. (Mary) Snelbaker, Stephanie (Brad) Hayes, Athena (Matt) Michalek, Bevann Burgess, Anthony (Melody) Flex, great grandchildren Cameron, Olivia, Laurel, Theodore, loving bonus grandchildren Megan, Lily, Capri, Emma, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, 11:00 am, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish at St. Anthony Campus with Rev. Fr. Frederick Schlueter celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ethel's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Bethany Nursing Home for their wonderful care.
