Ardis Hulbert, 90, of Adel, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, December 15, 2025.
Ardis was born on December 28, 1934, in Lorimor, Iowa, to Elmer and Myrtle (Gearhart) Booth. She graduated from East High School in 1952. On January 28, 1955, she was united in marriage to Harold Hulbert in Lorimor. Later in life, she married Harold Wallace.
Ardis grew up in Lorimor and later moved to Des Moines, then relocated to Kansas City. During that time, she and Harold welcomed three children. The family eventually returned to Des Moines, where Ardis built her life and career. She worked as a locksmith.
She will be remembered by her son, Larry (Peggy) Hulbert of Van Meter; daughters, Melissa Hulbert of Des Moines and Barbara (John) Caldwell of Winterset; two grandchildren, James Hulbert and Zachary Caldwell; four great-grandchildren, Raven Montique, Jaden Hulbert, Seth Caldwell, and Amethyst Caldwell; and one great-great-grandchild, Monroe Montique.
Ardis was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Harold Hulbert and Harold Wallace; and brother, Marvis Booth and sister, Marilyn Stafford.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. Visitation will be held prior, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Lorimor Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for a future designation.
