Ardis Mae Olufson

Olufson, Ardis M., age 95 of Chanhassen, formerly of St. Louis Park, passed away 1/30/2023 at Jones-Harrison Residence. Ardis grew up in Deer Park, WI and graduated from New Richmond High School in 1945. She married Lyle Olufson on June 15, 1946. They first moved to Minneapolis on Colfax Ave. in 1947 before settling in St. Louis Park in 1949. She worked for many years in the St. Louis Park school system, where she forged many lifelong friendships and retired in 1991. Ardis' piano was always front and center in her home. She was a gifted piano player who passed her love of music on to her 3 children, enrolling them all in piano lessons and supporting them throughout their musical endeavors. Ardis was an avid runner, she entered many 5K races throughout the Twin Cities over the years, competing well into her 50's and 60's. Always active, she loved riding her bicycle, especially around the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes. She once did a day trip to New Richmond, WI and back in one day. Ardis will be remembered for her gentle kindness and loving devotion to her husband and family. Preceded in death by her husband Lyle, son Randall and parents Eddie Olson and Hazel (Asp) Olson Survived by children Debra (Tom) Gaffney and Mark (Debra) Olufson, grandchildren Jason (Cindy) Brown, Emily (Mark) Stickler, Curtis (Keri) Olufson, Martin, Andrew and David Olufson, great grandchildren Noah Stickler, Wyatt Brown, Jake Stickler, Otto Brown and Isla Olufson, brother Arvaal Olson and many other loving family and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11-12:00 PM Thursday February 9, 2023 at Huber Funeral Home, 16394 Glory Lane, Eden Prairie. Interment 2 PM at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Much gratitude goes to the caring staff at Jones-Harrison Residence.
