Ardys June (Cardarelle) Hustad, of Hudson, WI, passed away peacefully at her home on February 4, 2024. Ardys was born on June 11, 1932 in Neillsville, WI, to Joseph E. and Anna H. (Schroeder) Cardarelle.
Upon graduating high school from Neillsville, Ardys went on to get her teaching degree from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire after which she began teaching in the Madison area where she met the love of her life Gene Hustad. They were married on March 8, 1958 in Dubuque, Iowa.
Ardys raised her 3 children splitting time between the St. Croix River home in Hudson, WI and the cabin on Deer Lake in St. Croix Falls, WI.
Along with the river and lake activities, Ardys was an avid snow skiier, traveling with family and friends on many winter ski adventures.

Being a 40+ year survivor of Breast Cancer, Ardys and Gene took every spare moment to travel the world with a special fondness for Costa Rica. Winter travels were spent in the pickup camper covering the Pacific Coast of Mexico to Alaska with the later years along the Colorado River in Arizona.
