A Life Filled with Love, Faith, and Generosity
Arelis Franco was born in Chicago, Illinois, and when she was just two months old she moved with her family to Puerto Rico. She lived there until the age of fifteen when she returned to Chicago. From her earliest years Arelis was known for her radiant smile and a joy that never faded. She carried with her a positive attitude that could light up any place and touch everyone she met.
In 2002 Arelis met the love of her life Mike Franco. Their relationship was filled with love, trust, and joy, and to all who knew them it was evident how much they valued and loved each other. On June 7, 2008 they were married, sealing a bond that would carry them through life's joys and challenges. Together they built a life full of shared dreams, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
One of the happiest moments in Arelis's life was the day her daughter Yareliz was born. She expressed to her mother that the gift of being a mom, the joy and privilege of motherhood, was the best feeling in the world. That experience remained one of her greatest treasures throughout her life.
Her life was defined by her deep faith, her love for her family, and her selfless generosity. Arelis was a devoted member of Brilla Church where she actively served and expressed her love for God through worship. She was respected and loved by everyone who knew her, often because of the way she made people feel heard, valued, and cared for. Her faith was the foundation of her life and she lived each day as a testimony of her devotion to the Lord.
Arelis loved the beach, treasured time with her family, and had the gift of making others feel special. She had a generous heart and treated everyone with respect. People naturally opened up to her because of her warmth, kindness, and genuine spirit.
Arelis is survived by her husband Mike Franco, her daughter Yareliz Roldan, her grandson Jay Franco, her parents Juan and Yolanda Rosa, her brother Joel Rosa, her sisters Aris Rosa, Arizaida Rosa, and Arisai Santiago, and her son in law Delvin Roldan. She was preceded in death by her son John Michael Franco. She loved her family deeply and shared a very special bond with her parents, siblings, daughter, grandson, and loved ones, a connection full of mutual care, respect, and joy that they will carry in their hearts forever.
Arelis valued life and the opportunity to give to others. She was a registered organ donor and her husband was informed that her corneas will be used to restore the gift of sight to a blind person, a final act of generosity that reflects who she was in life.
Special Thanks The family wishes to express their most sincere gratitude to her best friends Sugey Anaya and Mayrita Torres for their love, support, and unwavering presence throughout her life. They also wish to thank the family pastor Amy Serrano and their pastors at Brilla Church Eric Hernandez and Norma Rivera for their prayers, guidance, and spiritual support. The family extends special thanks to everyone who cared for Arelis during her stay at the hospital, to those who kept her in their prayers, and to all who offered constant support during her time of need. They are especially grateful to the hospital staff at HCA Florida Brandon Hospital for going above and beyond in the care they provided to Arelis.
