Arlana Roman

Arlana (Heino) Roman, age 74, of Westford, MA and Mt. Vernon, ME passed away on January 2, 2025. She is the daughter of the late Angelina and Reino Heino of Arlington, MA. She is predeceased by her siblings Anita and Ray.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Richard Roman and his children, Shawn and his wife Karen of Bethesda, MD and Cory and his wife Roseangela of Westford, MA. She is also survived by her daughter Tressa of Grafton, MA and son Tim and his wife Jen of Fort Mill, SC. She is also survived by her sister Andrea and her husband Bob of Woburn, MA. She leaves behind her 12 beloved grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many, many good friends.
Describing "Lana" in words seems impossible. To know her was to love her, and you knew you had never met anyone else like her. When she walked into a room, it instantly became calmer and lighter. She loved to cook and eat good food, especially while being surrounded by her husband, kids and grandkids, with either the Red Sox on or the Talking Heads playing in the background.
She loved to laugh. In her last hours, she was still laughing and making people laugh.
Lana's love and respect for nature and the natural world was infectious and she took every opportunity she could to share that with everyone. She shared a love of gardening, growing things and having her hands in soil. Lana was a free spirit who loved to travel, especially to warm places like Belize, Panama, Mexico or any beach she could have her feet in the sand, looking for shells and watching the ocean. She lived life fully and authentically.
Nothing brought a bigger smile to her face than her 12 cherished grandchildren - Benjamin Blue, Miss Kitty, Pip, Sunshine, Samalam, Riedie, Katydid, Emmy Lou Doo, Sweet Pea, Coco, Amore and Bella.
She was a small but mighty force who left a little bit of her magic in everyone she touched. Lana literally was LOVE, personified.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden in Harvard, MA on June 1 from 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Healing Garden at Donate to The Healing Garden | Support Cancer Care (www.healinggardensupport.org).
