Arleen R. Huffman, 85 of Chatham, Ohio, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Lodi Community Hospital, following a short illness.
She was born in Lodi, Ohio, on November 30, 1940, to Ford and Mary (Jackson) Barnhart, and grew up in Leroy (Westfield Center), where she graduated from Leroy High School in 1958. Arleen married Stanley Huffman on October 15, 1960. They resided in Seville, Ohio, before retiring to The Villages, Florida, in 1997.
Arleen was a former firefighter with the Seville Fire Department and one of the first Paramedics with Seville EMS, which she helped establish in 1976. She would go on to work as a Paramedic for 37 years. She enjoyed her family, horses, farm life, drawing, painting, reading, and her pet cat Meow Mix (AKA Princess Meow Meow). Arleen resided in Florida for 27 years before moving back to Ohio in 2024 with her daughter and son-in-law.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Brian) Dillon and Michael (Sherry Carrino) Huffman; 6 grandchildren, Allen (Jelena) Dillon, Nicholas (Elizabeth) Dillon, Brandon (Rachel) Dillon, Kevin, Austin, and Michael Burianek; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Gene (Jan) Barnhart; sisters-in-law, Betty Huffman and Debra (Gary) Hall, and 9 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 infant sons, husband Stanley, brother-in-law Leonard Huffman, and sister-in-law Diane Barnhart.
Memorial Visitation will be Saturday, December 13, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Parker Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, OH, where a Memorial Service will immediately follow the visitation. Chaplain Don Bolich will officiate. Inurnment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Seville, Ohio at a later date.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to your local ASPCA, or Seville EMS and Fire.
