Arleen Marion Odegard passed away December 22, 2025 at the age of 93 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's.

Leaving behind a legacy of family, joy, and cherished memories. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband William, daughter's Rebecca Grinnell(Terry), Kris Odegard and great grandson Bradley Wigand, her parents Joseph and Gladys Paulson, sisters Joan (Ed)Englin and Blanche Brommer. In-laws Selmer and Selma Odegard, Darlene Paulson and Paula, Ronald and Eldora Odegard, Sandy Paulson.

Legacy

Arleen was a hard worker and held a number of jobs in her early years; Nanny,

The Paper Mill, Huntsingers Farm, Pearson Candy Company, St Mary's Hospital and Gould Battery.

She started her career at Ramsey County Human Services where daughters Becky and Kris joined her. She also took on a second job at Brown and Bigelow for a year.

Arleen was kind and dedicated especially to those in her care, often referred to as an earthly angel. Her warmth, laughter and loving spirit will live on through the generations that she so dearly cherished.

She loved traveling, and the money adventures that it brought. Some favorite places she's visited were Norway, Puerta Vallarta, Colorado, the North Shore and New York.

Family

Arleen was the devoted mother of three daughters Becky, Kris and Jan.

She is survived by daughter Jan Odegard, and grandchildren Steven Grinnell, Michael Grinnell, Aja Ngbemeneh and Alex Odegard. Great grandchildren Matthew Grinnell, Alyssa Grinnell, Addison Grinnell, Matheo Ngbemeneh, Kalia Kleinschmidt and Karsyn Grinnell. Brothers James Paulson, Paul Paulson sister Gloria Paulson and brother in law Duane Brommer. Many nephews and nieces, and cherished friends.

A special thank you to all of the amazing care givers at New Perspective in Woodbury and the wonderful staff at Brighton Hospice.

Cherished memories

Arleen was a member at House of Prayer Lutheran Church where she participated in ladies circle, played bells and helped with many events.

Time spent with family and friends at lake homes in Chisago and Pequot Lakes

brought great joy and memories that she held dear.

She was very involved with Relay for life of white bear lake for 10years.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation and Celebration of life will be held January 16, 2026 at House of Prayer Lutheran Church 6039 40th Street N, Oakdale, Mn 55128

Visitation and luncheon will be 2pm - 4pm

Celebration of life at 4pm

Burial will be in the spring at Evergreen Memorial Gardens

My condolences to Arlene's family. I had the privilege of knowing Arlene while working at Ramsey County. I remember her infectious smile, she was such a sweet person! May you find comfort in knowing that the brightness of her life well lived will continue to shine.

Arleen was a treasure in my life as a friend and at work. She was utmost caring for all, and so very amazing in that she just never knew how to complain or display negativity. She was very special and will always be remembered as such.
