Arlen D.L. Mueller, 98, of Hustisford, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025, at his home.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at noon at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hustisford with Rev. Jonathan Loescher officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Hustisford Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to the church. Arlen Daniel Lester Mueller was born March 3, 1927, on the family farm in Hustisford, the son of Leonard and Nora (nee Reichow) Mueller. He graduated from Hustisford High School in 1945 as valedictorian. Arlen married the former Delores Schoenike on September 3, 1949, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Sugar Island. She preceded him in death on October 29, 2021.

Arlen led a long and industrious career, from his early days on the family farm to becoming a local business co-owner at Badger Paint Store and later, a leading salesman for Menards. His true calling, however, was revealed in his tireless service to others. After retiring, he worked as a van driver for the Dodge County ADRC, volunteered to drive people to appointments, and faithfully delivered for Meals on Wheels until he was 91, leaving a legacy of profound kindness.

Arlen's love for driving was best expressed with his beloved wife, Delores, by his side. Together, they turned that passion into a shared adventure, exploring the vast beauty of the country from behind the windshield. Their journey took them to every state in the continental U.S., including a memorable drive to Alaska.

Arlen was a true pillar of the Hustisford community, dedicating his time and talents to its betterment. He served with distinction on the Hustisford Fire Department, where his long-standing commitment was recognized with an honorary membership. He further contributed his leadership to the Hustisford Utility Commission and through his faithful work on numerous committees at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church. His deep-rooted dedication was formally celebrated when he and Delores were jointly honored as recipients of the Hustisford Community Award.

The cornerstone of Arlen's life was his deep and abiding love for his wife, Delores. This profound devotion was never more apparent than in her final years. A two-time cancer survivor himself, Arlen selflessly cared for Delores for two and a half years, dedicating himself completely to her comfort and well-being until her passing.

Arlen is survived by children, James (Vickie) Mueller of Delavan, Judith (Charles) Wolter of Hustisford, Jeannine Whitney of Brookfield; grandchildren, Kevin, Darin, Ryan, Amanda, Travis, Tricia, Tyler, Trevor, David, Lucas, Gretchen, Erika; step-grandchildren, Sarah, and Dean; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; in-laws, Eva Grimm, Violet Christian, and Al (Jean) Schoenike; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Arlen is further preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Janet Mueller; siblings, Delbert (Lorraine) Mueller, Walde (JoAnn) Mueller, and Ardis (Omer) Creydt.
