Arlene L. Chambers, age 88 of Malta, IL passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Aperion Care in DeKalb, IL. She was born in DeKalb, IL on October 1, 1936 the daughter of Ellis and Gertrude (Chantrill) Anderson.
Arlene was united in marriage on April 14, 1978 to Mr. Merle Chambers and they spent the next 48 years happily together. She was employed for many years as a sales associate in retail sales. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Merle Chambers of Malta, IL; her children, Sheryl McGee of Rochelle, IL, Laurene (David) Kerwin of Raytown, MO, and Deanne Haub of Creston, IL; her five grandchildren; her four great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Gertrude Anderson; her brother, Lloyd Anderson; her sister-in-law, Patricia Anderson; and two son-in-law's, James McGee and Michael Haub.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Nash-Nelson Funeral Home, 1001 East Garfield Street, Waterman, IL.
Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, in Shabbona, IL.
A Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the Hour of Service at Nash-Nelson Funeral Home, 1001 East Garfield Street, Waterman, IL.
