Arlene Curry, 86 years old of Cecil, Pennsylvania, died April 30, 2025 in Premier Washington Health Center.

She was born September 3, 1938 in Canonsburg, daughter of the late Emile Leon and Loretta Regine Bouchy.

She was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, St. Mary Church.

Arlene, a lifelong resident and dedicated community servant of Cecil, was raised on her family's farm on Depaoli Road, where she helped with the family's soda business, Bouchy Spring Bottling Works, from a young age, where she became known as Butch.

A 1956 graduate of Cecil High School, Arlene also attended Robert Morris College for accounting and Penn Commercial for Cosmetology. Her long and impactful career with the U.S. Postal Service began as a temporary clerk, and included appointments as Officer in Charge at Presto and Postmaster of Cecil, where she arranged to have a new Post office built near the Cecil Bank. She earned numerous awards and recognitions for her work and community involvement.

Arlene's deep love for Cecil was evident in her decades of volunteer service. She served 32 years on the Cecil Parks and Recreation Board, and was instrumental in the Fall family Days, was a 54-year member and 29-year President of the Cecil American Legion Auxiliary, reorganized and was president of the Cecil #3 Fireman's Auxiliary for many years, and volunteered for 13 years at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. She organized Christmas Eve blood drives, and was also a onetime correspondent for The Daily Notes in Canonsburg.

She held various other jobs throughout her life, including work at Colussy Chevrolet, Allen's Beauty Salon in Houston, Feno's Catering in Cecil, and the Hollywood Restaurant in McMurray, among others. Known for her generosity and community spirit, she regularly collected clothing and food for those in need and always signed her talks with: "I live in Cecil, the Garden Spot of Washington County."

Arlene's legacy is one of service, pride in her roots, and a commitment to making every day a masterpiece.
