Arlene “Lenie” Annette (Qualseth) Hinz, age 83, of Baltic, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls. Memorial visitation will be from 5-6:30 PM Monday, September 22, 2025, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home in Baltic. A graveside service will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Pioneer Lutheran Cemetery, rural Baltic.

Arlene was born on July 24, 1942, in Colton, South Dakota, to Arnold and Annette Qualseth. She married Duane Hinz on March 26, 1964. They lived in Rapid City, Sioux Falls, and Brookings before moving to Baltic in 1985. In Sioux Falls, she worked at Sencore, Ravens, and lastly Avera McKennan. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Colton.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Kelly Goetz, Crooks; her grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren; sisters: Leona “Dolly” Kittelson, Arla Sundal, and Susan (Keith) Merry; brothers: George (Dorothy) Qualseth, Curtis (Pat) Qualseth, David (Deb) Qualseth, and Ron (Lois) Qualseth; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Duane “Don” Hinz, son, Troy Hinz, grandchildren, Thomas and Heather, and siblings, Ruth Ann Qualseth and Nolan Qualseth.
