Susan Carol Hinz (Sue) age 71, was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, November 13, 2025. She was born on July 2, 1954 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Kenneth L. and Mary M. (Spellich) Anderson. She grew up in Dollar Bay, MI, living there until 1966 when her family settled in Sheboygan, WI. Sue married Richard Filemyr in the mid 70’s, living in Grand Rapids, MI while attending Grand Valley State University. In time their lives took different paths and Sue moved back to Sheboygan, where she met and married the love of her life, William (Bill) Hinz.

Sue returned to college and was able to find work at Invest Financial as a customer service representative, a job she truly loved. Sue was a kind and joyful soul who helped many people in her life in many different ways, never expecting anything in return. She had lifelong friends and they have been there for each other through the good times and the bad, notably, Ginia, Trola, and Chris. Sue was a spiritual person, whose “Happy Place” was along the shores of Lake Michigan where she spent many peaceful hours. Sue loved animals, especially her German Shephards, faithful companions through her entire life. Above all, Sue loved her family. After Bill’s passing in 2007, Sue moved her mom into her house so they could live together. Later in 2015, when her sister Barb lost her husband, Barb and her son Jon moved in with Sue. Their relationship was a very special one, always helping each other. Sue will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. The world could use more people like Sue, who had a heart of gold.

Sue is survived by her siblings Barbara Cherwin and Larry (Jessica) Anderson. She is further survived by her nephews Jon Cherwin and Ben Anderson, and her niece Bethany Anderson, as well as many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Bill Hinz, and her brother-in-law Gary Cherwin.

Per Sue’s wishes, there will be no funeral service at this time. If possible, please consider joining us for a Celebration of Life dinner in her honor to be held next spring in Sheboygan (more details to follow at a later date).
