Arlene Phyllis Gulton was born June 23, 1943, in Minneapolis, MN, to parents Martin Milstein and Dorothy Lasky Milstein. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Allen Gulton; brothers, Myron Mike Milstein (Annie) and Irwin Terry Milstein; son in law, Howard Warsett; and grandson Baruch Warsett. She is survived by her sister, Sheryl Gordon (Jeff), daughters, Estee Warsett, Jenifer Mills, and Laura Cloud (Devon), and her son Barney Grossman, seven grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Arlene met and married her first husband, and still best friend Mike Grossman (John) while studying at the University of Minnesota. She was an avid bowler, Mah Jong player and original member of the Mixed Nuts. She played gin rummy with her husband Jack nearly every evening for a penny a point, funding an annual trip to Las Vegas or Sanibel Island. Arlene spent most of her career at Control Data as a Benefits Specialist. After Jack passed away and moving to Dallas in 2011, she enjoyed outings with The Red Hat Ladies. She passed away peacefully in Dallas on January 26, 2026.

Arlene enjoyed life to the fullest and will be missed by many friends and family. A celebration of her life will be held at Temple Shalom Dallas, 6930 Alpha Rd, Dallas, TX 75240, on February 3, 2026 at 11:00 am. Shiva minyan to be held at 7348 Lakehurst Ave, Dallas 75230 at 6:00 pm. She will be interred in a private ceremony with a celebration of her life to be held in Minneapolis at a later date. Special thanks to the Tuesday Temple Mah Jong ladies who gave her something to look forward to in her last years; to the medical staff and care teams at UTSW Clements Hospital and Faith Presbyterian Hospice for their many kindnesses and great care in her final days.
