Clarendon: Ethel Arlene Robinson, age 99, passed away peacefully June 8, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Arlene was born September 10, 1925, in the Town of Byron, a daughter of the late Allen and Nellie (Bird) Darch. Arlene was a graduate of South Byron School and a member of Disciples United Methodist Church, the Sunshine Club and Clarendon Historical Society. For a short time, Arlene was employed at the Jello factory and would walk a mile to work. Arlene was also employed at Rutlands Five & Dime in Holley. Arlene was a caretaker most of her life for family and friends; her love lives on through all of us.
Arlene was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Gerald J. Robinson, sister Jeanette Goodwin and niece Cheryl Yaxley.
Arlene is survived by her loving family. Daughter, Diane (Ronald) Whalin and son Allen (Sharon) Robinson, sister Elaine Hills; grandchildren Amy (Mike) Bennage, Michele Strickland, Allen J.G. Robinson , Scott (Jennifer) Whalin, Carrie (Jim) Schutz, Patrick (Abby) Robinson; great-grandchildren Courtney Strickland, Cameron (Abigail) Atkins-Bennage, Nickolas Kinmond, Ryan Sandler, Cora Bennage, Brody Schutz, Cavan Bennage, Kayden Schutz, Kinley Robinson, Sawyer Schutz, Emma Robinson, Andrew Robinson, Addyson Whalin; special nephew Doug (Laurie Lynch) Hills; special friends Carolyn & Bob Winspear and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Arlene’s family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, 16650 State Rt. 31, Holley on Friday, June 13, from 4:00-7:00. Arlene’s Funeral Service will be held at the funeral Home on Saturday at 11:00am, followed by interment at N. Byron Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Clarendon Historical Society, Clarendon Fire Co., or Disciples United Methodist Church.
