Arlene C. Smith

1939 - 2026

Arlene C. Smith, 86, of Apollo, passed away Jan. 9, 2026. She was born March 29, 1939, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Ralph and Helen (Capellela) Capozzoli. Arlene enjoyed watching old movies, Pittsburgh Penguins hockey games, figure skating, and football. She also enjoyed word searches and playing bingo, but most importantly, spending time with family. In addition to her parents, Arlene was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Smith; as well as her son, Robert J. Smith; and brother, Michael M. Capozzoli. Arlene is survived by her children, James (Jean) M. Smith of North Apollo and Linda (Bill) Swope of Naples; as well as her daughter-in-law, Liz Smith of Plum Borough. Arlene was also a proud grandmother to her eight grandchildren and her 14 great-grandchildren, whom she cared for deeply. A memorial service in Arlene's name will be held at a later date.
