Alger, Michigan formally from Linwood, Michigan
Arlene C. Vermeesch, 92, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 4, 2024. She was born on May 5, 1931, to the late Clarence and Catherine (Tacey) Badour. Arlene married the late Richard Vermeesch on May 27, 1950, at St. John Evangelist Church in Essexville, Michigan. She was a member of the Resurrection of the Lord Church in Standish and a former member of the Prince of Peace Parish - St. Annes Church in Linwood. Arlene was a member of Daughters of Isabella; she shared 63 years of services, including holding office as a state regent. Arlene farmed with her husband Richard in Linwood and Essexville, prior worked at Buick Flint Foundry. She enjoyed her ceramics and artwork. She enjoyed sewing and made multiple quilts for family members and friends.
Arlene is survived by their children, Richard (Linda) Vermeesch, Michael (Joy) Vermeesch, Jerry (Rebecca) Vermeesch, Judy (Jerry) Lawrence, Marlene (Joe) Willey, Wayne (Karen) Vermeesch, daughter-in-law, Peggy Vermeesch and 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Kathleen VanOchten. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents, a son, Mark Vermeesch and several siblings.
A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Rivertown Funeral Chapel, Kawkawlin, Michigan with Deacon Michael Arnold presiding. Visitation is from 1:00 pm until the time of service on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
