Arlene Williams, age 93, passed away peacefully on February 16th at Cornerstone Hospice Care. She was surrounded by family in her final days. She is preceded in death by her parents, Garret and Hilda Nietering, husband Vern of 67 years, brother Don and sister Betty. She is survived by her three sons, David, Warren (Carrie) and Scott (Kathy), 4 Grandchildren, Ryan (Diana), Laura (Luke), Ashley (Will), and Rachel, 3 Great Grandchildren, Finley, Aurora, Kenndy and sister Joan (David), along with many nephews and nieces.
Arlene grew up in Buffalo, N.Y. and graduated from South Park High School. She met the love of her life Vern and they married on September 6, 1952 at Cazenovia Baptist Church.
Arlene and Vern lived in the Buffalo area before moving to North Syracuse in 1964. They enjoyed family, friends and activities including camping, golf and skiing. She was active as a volunteer with the National Ski Patrol at Song Mountain. During this time, she earned her 2-year Associates degree at SUNY Excelsior College. After working as a teacher assistant, Arlene and Vern started AuTech Plastics and continued their business until they retired. They moved to The Villages in 1997 and enjoyed their retirement years. Arlene was active in Church, enjoyed traveling, community activities and volunteered at the Villages Hospital for many years.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in their hometown of Buffalo N.Y. Condolences may be sent to www.Baldwincreamation.com. Donations in Arlene’s name may be made to Cornerstone Hospice. 601 Mariposa Way, The Villages, FL 32162.
