Arlo Clayton Block

Arlo C. Block age 88 of Park Rapids, MN formerly of Detroit Lakes, MN died February 1, 2026 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Park Rapids, MN.

Arlo Clayton Block was born February 5, 1937 in Foxhome, MN to Arnold and Olena (Shirley) Block. He grew up and attended school in the Rothsay and Fergus Falls area. He later moved to Detroit Lakes where he worked at Gasport Truckstop. He later started working for Grover’s Truckstop, where he worked for 42 years. It was at Grover’s where he met Naida Powell, who also worked there. They were united in marriage in 1988. Arlo and Naida were a match made in heaven. They were inseparable and enjoyed many of the same things, including Phelps Mills and the Steam threshers Reunion at Rollag.

Arlo is survived by three daughters, Debbie Gann, of Phoenix, AZ; Rexanne Block, of Moorhead, MN; and Jeanne (Tim) Hass, of Park Rapids, MN; four sons, Bill Block, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Joe Block, of Callaway, MN; John Block, of Phoenix, AZ; and Matthew Block, of Callaway, MN; nineteen grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter;

He was preceded in death by his wife Naida; one son, Thomas Block; two brothers, Vernon Block and Elvin Block; and his parents
