I am very sorry to hear of Arlo's passing. He was a friend of mine for over 60 years and I always enjoyed visiting with him and joking with him. He had a great sense of humor.
One time back in the early 80s, Arlo helped me with a blind cow that had jumped into the canal beside my veterinary clinic. If Arlo hadn't arrived when he did, that cow would probably still be in the ditch! He and I both got ropes on the cow and were able to guide her to the side of the canal where she could get her footing and then we got her into a pen. It was quite a scene, and Arlo and I laughed about that experience many times over the years.
Rest peacefully Arlo!

I knew Arlo through Martin Lumber, where I worked for 35 years. Arlo, a challenge to communicate with, was always pleasant to assist. Other sales people there would avoid Arlo due to his being deaf. However I could, for some reason, most likely being patient with him, could get from him what he wanted, If it was that I couldn't I'd hand him paper and pencil. After time, Arlo would come look me up to help him. Arlo, would always brighten my day, give me the weather forecast, or maybe where and how he did on a hunting trip. Arlo was a great man, and his challenge never got in his way. Arlo is another one of those people whom were whisked right through St. Peters gate and I know he can hear us now.
