Born on July 12, 1949, in Yellow Bluff, Alabama, Jerome Pickett was the son of Johnnie and Emma Lee Pickett and the cherished younger brother of Margurite. The family later relocated to Mobile, Alabama. Following the passing of his mother, his father remarried, and from that union came his additional siblings.
He graduated from Trinity Gardens High School in 1967 and shortly thereafter he enlisted in the United States Army. During this enlistment Jerome served in Vietnam. After his term was complete, he decided not to re-enlist & received an honorable discharge. He returned home to Mobile, Alabama, where he married the love of his life, Jackie Brown. In 1972 he re-enlisted, embarking on what would become a remarkable and distinguished 21 year military career.
Together, Jerome & Jackie built a strong and loving home, raising their two daughters, Kyri & Quian,
instilling in them the values of perseverance, integrity, and compassion. Jerome's life was defined by support, honor, service, an unwavering love for his family, and for the community he touched. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, selflessness, and the enduring example of a man who lived with purpose.
Jerome was baptized in 1991 at Nazaree Full Gospel under the leadership of Bishop Joseph D. Phillips.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Emma Lee Pickett; his grandparents, Winsor and Leola Lewis; and a host of other beloved family members.
He leaves to cherish his memories and life, a devoted wife of 53 years, Jackie Brown Pickett, two daughters, Kyri (McKinley) Patterson, and Quian (Vincent) Huff, five grandchildren, JaKhiry Pickett, Jemiah Pickett, Jyron (Diamond) Eaton, Emani (Jordan) Lyles & Chanse Huff, three great grandchildren, Marlohe Body, August Pickett, and McKinley Pickett, two aunts, Corrine ( Joe) Fulgham, & Lela Lewis, seven sisters, Marguerite Osburn, Alma Lynn ( Henry ) Poole,
Mabel Williams, Ginger Gulley, Judy Jett, Angela (Randolph) Evans, & Deborah Pickett, a host of nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, & other beloved family members and dear friends.
