Arneda Geneve Dowdy

Arneda Geneve Dowdy, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born on June 3, 1945, in Clay County, Arkansas, to Clarence Frederick and Lois Geneve Patterson Turner, Arneda's life was a testament to the power of kindness and devotion.

Arneda's journey began as a cherished daughter in the Turner family, and she grew up surrounded by the love of her brothers and sisters. Her heart found its match when she married her beloved husband, Kenneth Ray Dowdy, with whom she shared a lifetime of joy and companionship. Together, they created a legacy of love through their children, Anthony and Jamie Dowdy of Rector, Pam and Jack Dalton of Jonesboro, and Anita Rutledge of Little Rock.

Arneda's role as a grandmother was one she cherished deeply, showering her grandchildren, Rachel and Jacob Nolen, Ashley and Alex Christian, Abi Dalton, Katie Rutledge, and Andrew Rutledge, with the same unconditional love she had always known. The arrival of her great-grandchildren, Eleanor Nolen, Camden, and Callen Christian, added even more joy to her life.

Her family circle extended to her siblings, Danny and Jackie Turner, Davy and Cathie Turner, Ronald and Paula Turner, Mavis Morgan, Darlene and Rudy Ring, Linda and Danny Cook, Donna and Phillip Wegner, Kathy and Mike Moss, and Anna Turner Rawls. Each relationship was nurtured with care, creating an unbreakable bond that extended to a host of special relatives and friends.

Arneda's professional life was marked by her dedicated service at Emerson Electric, where she was not only a valued employee but also a friend to many. Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing comfort and strength throughout her years.

Her interests reflected her loving nature. Arneda found joy in making baby quilts, each stitch a symbol of her warmth. Her Christmas candy was legendary, a sweet representation of her generous spirit. Lunches with her siblings were cherished moments, filled with laughter and shared memories. But it was the time spent with her grandkids and great grandkids that truly filled her heart.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday February 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector with Rudy Ring officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
