Obituary for Arnim "Arnim" Irving Scott

With profound sorrow and deep gratitude for a life marked by love, strength, and steadfast devotion, we announce the passing of Arnim Irving Scott, age 92, of Carrollton, Texas, who passed away on February 24, 2026, at home in Carrollton.

Arnim was a remarkable man-steady, protective, and generous. He was a devoted husband and father who placed his family first in every way that mattered. His life reflected sacrifice through daily acts of love: providing, guiding, and showing up with consistency and care. He was the kind of man whose presence made others feel safe, supported, and valued.

Born on September 8, 1933, in Tacarigua, Trinidad, Arnim was the beloved son of Vernon Scott and Clotilda Scott. He built a life grounded in integrity and purpose and was known for his quiet strength and reliability. He worked as an architectural draftsman, a craft that reflected his precision, discipline, and thoughtful attention to detail.

Arnim shared a loving marriage with his wife, Kathleen Dots Scott. Their anniversary, December 31, marked a bond rooted in commitment and partnership.

To his friends, Arnim was loyal and dependable-someone who stayed connected, showed up when it mattered, and offered support without fanfare. To his siblings, he was more than family-he was a lifelong friend and a steady source of encouragement. His absence will be felt deeply in every gathering, every conversation, and every moment that reminds us of home.

A faithful member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Arnim valued community and lived with quiet conviction. He found joy in gardening, drafting, and-true to those who knew him best-a good meal and shared time with loved ones.

Arnim is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Dots Scott; his daughters, Arlene Cheray Scott and Charlene Michelle Scott; his grandson, Marcus Ahmad Mousavi; his siblings, Rawle Scott, Mae Keary, Janet Scott, Nigel Scott, and Alban Scott; and his nephews, Duane Scott, Omar Scott, Rion Scott, Jaemeel Scott, Tariq Scott and the Carrington family, along with a host of extended family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Scott, and his mother, Clotilda Scott.
