Martha Ford Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by North Dallas Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Feb. 23, 2026.
Martha Ann Ford was born on October 9th, 1936, to Dewey Lee Reeve and Elcie Marie Osmon, in Abby Bend, Texas. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 20th, 2029, in Carrollton, Texas, at the age of 89. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Herrington, husband Brian Herrington, and Diana Story and husband Ernie Story, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Melville Wayne Ford; sons, Darrell Glen Ford and Dewey Wayne Ford; mother and stepfather, Elcie and James Lacy; brother, Dewey C. Reeve; and sister, Mary Lee Young.

Martha grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. She married Melville Wayne Ford on January 2, 1956. They had four children: Deborah, Darrell, Dewey, and Diana. Martha was active in PTA, serving in several office positions throughout the children's elementary years. She was a Girl Scout leader for Diana's and Deborah's troops at different times. She cheered her sons in their baseball games with their father, Wayne, as the coach. Martha worked for several companies, such as Pangburn's Candy Company and Pepperidge Farm, for many years. After her retirement from Pepperidge Farm, she became a half-owner of Today's Child Montessori School, a private Christian school for preschoolers through sixth grade, with her daughter, Deborah, and son-in-law Brian. Martha served as the school secretary. The entire student body of nearly 200 students knew Martha as MooMaw. For the ten years they owned and operated the school, she was grandmother to many children and parents alike. She was a faithful member of the Lord's Church and enjoyed worshiping, fellowship, and traveling with her Webb Chapel Church family.

The service for Martha will be held at Webb Chapel Church of Christ, 13425 Webb Chapel Road, Farmers Branch, TX 75234. There will be a visitation at 1:00 pm and a funeral service at 2:00 pm.
