It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Arnise R. Malcom, who departed from this life on Monday February 23rd, 2026 at the age of 26.
Arnise was born on September 21st, 1999 in
Newark, Delaware to Alan C. King and Gwendolyn D. King. From the very beginning, she brought light and warmth into the lives of everyone who knew her. She grew up in
Wilmington, Delaware and went on to live a full life obtaining her Bachelor's degree from Manhatanville University and Master degree from Wagner College and was actively pursuing her Ed.D at Delaware State University. She worked as an Eligibility Certification Specialist/ Athletic Advisor at Delaware State University where she dedicated herself to helping college students see their full potential and do their very best in school. She worked closely with student-athletes, supporting and guiding them to maintain strong academics so they could continue playing the sports they loved. She believed deeply in the power of education, discipline, and encouragement, and she took great pride in helping young people succeed both in the classroom and on the field.
Her passion for sports was a defining part of her life. Her love of athletics began as a very young child playing T-ball and continued to grow throughout the years. She played AAU field hockey and soccer in high school and continued playing field hockey in college, carrying with her the teamwork, resilience, and competitive spirit that she later poured into mentoring others. Sports were never just games to her they were opportunities to build character, community, and confidence. In true fashion, she wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted and that included shooting her shot with TJ, the man who would become her husband and life partner. What started with boldness turned into a beautiful marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Together they created a life centered around their greatest joy, their daughter Alana, who was the light of her world.
Above all, Arnise cherished her family. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Tyriq Malcom, daughter, Alana M. Malcom; her mother, Gwendolyn King; sister, Jacqueline King; nephew, Quincy King; niece, Narie King; grandfather, Elmer Carter; in-laws in love, Tyrone and Robin Malcom, Tiara Malcom; niece/god daughter, Bronx; uncles, Darren Carter (Karen), Kazi Toures, John King, Robert Carter (LaCrisha); aunts, Marva King, Pammy Carter, Dora Beckham,Ava Carter and Amber Stairs. She was preceded in death by her father, Alan King, and grandmother, Jacqueline Carter- Fawcett, grandparents Leroy and Mary King. Uncles Daniel King and Arnold King. Aunts Darlene and Patricia King and a host of cousins that loved her endlessly. She was blessed with a remarkable circle of friends, including Chima, Brandon, Brian, Reality, Ryiel and her bonus family, the Echevarria Family, who were truly an extension of her own. Their bond was built on love, loyalty, and shared experiences, and together they created countless memories, celebrated milestones, and filled her life with laughter and joy she treasured deeply.
Her legacy lives on in the memories she created, the love she gave so freely, and the countless lives she touched. Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the time we had with her and the beautiful imprint she leaves behind.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 7th at Canaan Baptist Church at 3011 New Castle Avenue in New Castle, Delaware. In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor her memory to contribute to Alana's college fund and to support her husband as they continue building the life she cherished so deeply.
Forever loved. Always remembered.
