Arnold Ray Cavender, 91, of Ravenswood, went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2026, in his home surrounded by family. Arnold was born September 8, 1934, to the late Oscar and Sadie Cavender
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years Wyvona “Onie” Phyllistene Cavender; a daughter, Sonja Kremer; son, Douglas Cavender; brothers, Earl Cavender; his twin sister, Irene Erwin of Charleston, other 2 sisters, Lessie Mayberry of Charleston and Jessie Thurman of Georgia; and nephew, Tommy Saunders.
Arnold is survived by his daughter, Robin Cavender of Ravenswood; three granddaughters, Kristina Evans of Charleston, Kaitlyn Hedrick of Ravenswood, Madeleine Casto of Millwood; as well as 5 great-grandchildren, Vincent and Sophia Smith, Michael and Molly Evans, and Aspen and Declan Casto. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Arnold was a proud veteran and served in the Marines. He also adored his fur babies Max and Matilda. He will be missed dearly.
Per his wishes, there will be no service. A private burial will be held with close family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help with burial costs at Waybright Funeral Home.
