Arnold Anthony "Twine" Gary

Arnold Anthony Gary was welcomed into this world on February 16, 1949, by his devoted parents, Samuel Gary, Jr., and Rosezelle (Townes) Gary, and peacefully entered eternal rest on September 21, 2025.

Raised in the close-knit Cavalier Manor community of Portsmouth, Virginia, and educated within the Portsmouth Public School system, he embodied the values of hard work and quiet perseverance. Arnold carried himself with an effortless charm that drew people near. His infectious sense of humor could lift any spirit, and his impeccable fashion-always punctuated by a signature hat-made him the epitome of cool. He delighted in classic cars, cheered faithfully for his Dallas Cowboys, and extended kindness and generosity to many. Arnold's easygoing nature and open heart fostered lifelong friendships, and those privileged to know him were forever touched by his loyalty and warmth.

He will be profoundly missed by those who loved him most: his devoted brother, Stevie R. Gary; his longtime sweetheart, Veronica R. Brehon; his children, Terri Gary, Tito Robinson, Simone Brehon-Evans (Antonio), and Joneiqua Quai Gary; along with a host of adoring nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Arnold's presence was a steady light in the lives of his many friends and extended family, each of whom carries cherished memories of his laughter and words of wisdom.

He is now reunited in heaven with his parents and his cherished siblings-June P. (Gary) White, Jerome L. Gary, and Gregory G. Gary-as well as his beloved son, Delano E. Gibbs. Though his physical presence is gone, the imprint of his love and the joy he shared will remain forever in our hearts.
