Terry Paul Gary, born November 27, 1969, in New Iberia, Louisiana, passed away on January 13, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Terry was a devoted father, partner, brother, and son whose life was defined by love, resilience, and hard work. Though he experienced significant vision loss throughout his life, Terry never allowed it to limit him. He adapted, persevered, and continued doing what he loved most - fishing, working with his hands, repairing and building things, and providing for those he loved.
Family was everything to Terry.
He was the proud father of Dylan Gary, Ryan Gary, and Thomas Populis, and a devoted dad to Bryce McClain, Braleigh McClain, Braden McClain, and Christian Louviere, whom he loved and treated as his own through his longtime companion and best friend, Marla McClain. Terry loved all of his children equally and without distinction.
He is survived by his father Nerry Gary (Sylvia); his brothers Perry 'Sam' Gary (his twin), Timmy 'T-boy' Bourque, and Carol 'Boo-boo' Duhon, Jr.; and his sisters Brenda Bourque, Angela Bourque, Tabitha Bourque, Aspize 'Tut' Duhon, and Carolyn 'Bee-bee' Duhon. He is also survived by his godchildren, Kimberly Bourque, Kaylee Bourque, and Erica Gasper, and by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
Terry was preceded in death by his mother Olga 'Marie' Romero; sisters Pauline Jenkins, Matina Bourque, and Savannah Duhon; nephews, Chance Gary and Ronnie Bourque; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Known for his strong work ethic, quiet determination, and generous heart, Terry loved fully and would have done anything in his power for his family - especially his children and Marla. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the love he gave so freely.
Family and Friends are invited to attend the memorial service on Friday January 23, 2026, from 2-4pm at Louisiana Funeral Services & Crematory located 108 Hardware Rd. Broussard, LA 70518.
