Dr. John J Gary

Dr. John J Gary, 86, of Columbus, Ohio passed away January 31st, 2026. He was born November 27th, 1939 to his mother Elizabeth Malloy and father in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from Bishop Watterson High School, John went on to graduate from The Ohio State University with a Masters of Science and a Doctorate in Philosophy. During his time at The Ohio State University, he received an honors award in gymnastics. He taught as a continuing education instructor at the University of Dayton, as well as teaching Dale Carnegie courses. John had a radio program on nutrition with WBBY for many years, had a blackbelt in Taekwondo, as well as having associations with the Shawnee Hills Police Department. He was a longtime resident at Rush Creek Village, as well as a devoted member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He is survived by his brother Phil; and sunshine of his life, Phoenix his cat. Preceded in death by his parents. A private interment will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.
